    Plot() and DrawText not Working

    Hi,

    Is there any set of circumstances under which a Plot would not plot and DrawText would not draw? This is happening to me and I do have valid values. Thank you for any suggestions you may be able to provide.

    Hello,

    Thanks for the forum post.

    None that I'm aware of as long as you check in the control panel->log tab and there are no errors in the log tab and the indicator is applied correctly to the chart and correct panel.

    I look forward to assisting you further.

      Hi Brett,
      Thanks for your reply. There were no errors in the Log and the indicator compiled correctly. I will have to look into this further.

          Hi Brett,

          Thank you for the offer. I have resolved the DrawText issue. It was misidentification: two parts of the code were drawing the same text. Regarding the plot issue, I am resetting a past plot value. So I have the statement:

          TDown.Set(1, tValues[0]);

          So on current bar 13 I am resetting the value of TDown on bar 12. I have used Update() in the getter/setter public property for TDown to force the plot to update but this did not have any effect. Is there any way to force the plot to update?

            Hello,

            Glad to hear.

            There is no way to force an update. The update will always occur on incoming tick.

            Please check out this multi color plot sample may help you with what your doing:

            I look forward to assisting you further.

                I have figured out the non plotting issue. It was related to the fact that I was using the default value of BarsRequired rather than setting my own value.The Plot() is working now. Thanks to Brett.
