Different versions of strategy

Greetings,

We have a strategy that prints its version from inside Initialize() function.

Every time the strategy gets updated, its version is incremented, it is exported via File->Utilities and then that zip is installed on top of the previous strategy version on another machine.

Recently, we had noticed that in Output Window there are outputs from 2 different versions! How is that possible?

Hi Alex,

Initialize() is likely not the best place for this, as it's called anytime you access Right Click > (Indicator or strategy) screen from chart, for example.

If you want to run certain items only once per instance of your strategy, use OnStartup() instead.

You either really do have 2 different instances/versions of the Strategy running, or you may have created a default template for the older strategy.
