Setting up email alerts

I am looking at the Misc section under Options to set up email alerts and had a couple of questions regarding it.

What User and Password do I enter here? Is it looking for my gmail (I would like to use my Gmail acount) information or something else?

Also what alerts will it send to my email? All of them?

This feature would not send all user generated alerts, but for example connection status events.

Thank you for the link. So are you saying that I will not be able to get email notifications for alerts I set? Can I get them for order fills?

cshah, this would be possible my coding a custom indicator to monitor for your condition and then use the SendMail() method in our NinjaScript to send the alert, for order fills - this would be possible for fills coming from an automated strategy only.

I keep getting an error message that says Failed to send mail: You must setup email account settings, when trying to set up the email alerts for gmail.
