    wiked renko and currentdayohl

    hello to all.
I go directly to the point. I would like the minimum or maximum of CurrentDayOHL are calculated on the closing candle WickedRenko and not on its minimum value \ massimo.secondo you have to change something in my strategy or change the CurrentDayOHL? Unfortunately I need the minimum or maximum wiked renko is coincident with the data I want to test a strategy that works with the renko, but as most wiked I have correct values.
I hope some of you can help me.

    Hi bergimax,

    Thanks for your note.

I am not quite clear about what you are asking for.

I understand you are using the WickedRenko bars on your chart.

Are you trying to call the value of the CurrentDayOHL from a strategy?

If so, I am not quite clear about the reference to the close of the bar vs the minimum value.

Please let me know how you are trying to use the CurrentDayOHL.

I am attaching a file that shows the problem.
I use the wiked renko to set the values of my strategy, that with the renko would be inexact. Using the wiked however, it creates this problem and the results would be totally wrong.

        Hello bergimax,

        Thanks for your reply.

Does this mean that the issue is the WickedRenko bars are returning a different value than the Renko bars?

What is the issue that is wrong in this screenshot?

no, the problem is not the wicked renko bar. This image is all right but I would not give the maximum currentdayohl the highest value of the candle but on its closure, just as in renko

            Hello bergimax,

            Thanks for that information.

So how I understand your inquiry is that you like that the CurrentDayOHL when applied to WickedRenko bars to reflect the same daily high and daily low as the regular Renko bars.

This is not possible because the Renko bar does not have a wick. The high and lows of these bars are different than the WickedRenko bars which have wicks. Each Wicked Renko bar with a wick has a different high and low than the equivalent Renko bar. The CurrentDayOHL uses the high and low of the bar data to calculate the daily high and low.

Because these bars contain different high and lows it would not be possible to use the WickedRenko bars and have the CurrentDayOHL ignore the wicks.

                Hello,

What I can suggest, is that if you are using a strategy, make this a multiseries strategy use WickedRenko bars for the strategy logic and the CurrentDayOHL calculated with the regular Renko bars.

Please take a look at the included SampleMultiInstrument script included with NinjaTrader.

Also, here is a link to the help guide that will help you with this on Multi-Time Frame and Instruments.

                    Please be careful.

                    (1) Renko bars do not display the correct current high or low.
                    (2) Renko bars cannot be properly backtested.
                    (3) AFAIK Wicked Renko seem to display correct high and low.
                    (4) AFAIK Wicked Renko cannot be properly backtested.

Please use BetterRenko instead of WickedRenko, if you wish to perform backtests.
