    External DLLs

    Is there a way to add to my indicator/strategy external DLLs and use their classes and methods?

    Thanks

    Hello kiss987,

    Thank you for your response.

    This is possible but you must add the reference by right clicking in your NinjaScript Editor --> select References --> Add --> navigate to your .dll --> Open.

      Is there a more detailed explanation somewhere on NT7 help or online documentation?

      Thank you

        Hello kiss987,

        Thank you for your response.

        You can find information on how to add a reference at the following link: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...indicators.htm

          Hi

          I've created a short DLL (code attached below) and added its reference as you described on your previous answer.
          Although I can see the DLL on my strategy's references, the ninja editor doesn't seem to recognize it and I cannot use it (I also attached a screen shot).

          Please help

          namespace MyDll
          {
          public class Class1
          {
          public string HelloWorld()
          {
          return ("HelloWorld");
          }
          }
          }

            Hello kiss987,

            Thank you for your response.

            Since adding the reference to the .dll file, have you compiled your NinjaScript files and restarted NinjaTrader?

            If so, and you cannot access the string can you forward me your .dll so I may test on my end?

              I did that plus saving the DLL file into My Documents\NinjaTrader Folder>\bin\Custom and now it works.

              Thank you
