    Bar Paints

    Hi,

I have an indicator which paints the candle inside the indicator region when there is a divergence. It also paints the main chart candle at the same time.

It kinda works, and it always paints the indicator region whatever. It does not however paint the candle in the main chart if the chart is not to front. IE: If there is another chart in front of it, then the candle in the main chart will not paint… is this a known issue? Also if the chart is minimised on the dock, only the indicator candle paints.

    What could cause this?

    Hi ScottieDog,

Can you clarify main chart candle vs indicator candle?

Are you using two panels? Are you creating candles with your script by overwriting the Plot method?

      Hi.

2 panels yes. the main chart is panel 1, indicator is in panel 2.

Not sure about the creating candles with the script by overwriting the plot method, I didn´t write it.

The main chart panel candles should paint whenever the indicator in panel 2 paints. Panel 2 is showing cumulative volume, not price. Panel 1 is showing price, as standard.

        Hi ScottieDog,

I've made a test script to test this and a quick video of testing this.

I am not able to reproduce this issue. Are you able to reproduce this using the test script that I have made?

My I have a script that is reduced to just the necessary code to reproduce this as an export?

To export your script do the following:
        1. Click File -> Utilities -> Export NinjaScript
        2. Enter a unique name for the file in the value for 'File name:'
        3. Select the strategy from the objects list on the left -> click the right facing arrow ">" to add the strategy to the export
        4. Click the 'Export' button -> click 'yes' to add any referenced indicators to the export -> click OK to clear the export location message

By default your exported file will be in the following location:
        • (My) Documents/NinjaTrader 7/bin/Custom/ExportNinjaScript/<export_file_name.zip>
