    Unknown Instrument

    Hey guys I'm getting unable to load chart data unknown instrument from Kinetick. Its only when im connected to Kinetick. I also tried resetting the instruments but that didnt work. The instrument is VIX from CBOE.

    Hi,

    Thanks for your post.

    Are you connected to a Live Kinetick account or the Kinetick - End of Day connection?
    Also, can you confirm you're on V7.0.1000.25. You can check this under Help--> About.

    I just double checked and was able to bring up the VIX on my end, so there is no issue with the instrument itself.

    Also, can you post a screenshot of the settings for the VIX. We need a screenshot of the Defintions and Misc tab.
    Go to Tools--> Instrument Manager--> Highlight the VIX in the middle section and click Edit to open up the Instrument Editor. In the editor take screenshots of the Definition and Misc tab and post them here.

    To send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screen shot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

          Hi,

          Thanks for the screenshots.

          It looks as there is a 0 (zero) entered in the symbol map. This needs to be a Capital O. Can you change this and see if that corrects your issue.

          So the symbol map needs to be 'VIX.XO' instead of 'VIX.X0'.

          Let us know if this corrects the issue.

              Hello,

              Please follow the specific instructions from below to upgrade to our current release V7.0.1000.25 and let us know if this corrects the issue.


              - Go to Help--> License Key and save your License
              - Close NinjaTrader
              - Go to the windows control panel--> Programs & Features--> Uninstall NinjaTrader 7
              - Reinstall NinjaTrader from the following link:

              After the reinstall please reset your instruments under Tools--> Options--> Data tab--> Reset Instruments

              Note: You will not lose any settings, strategies, workspaces etc since they are located in a folder that won't be uninstalled.

                I reinstalled and reset instruments, still no luck. Should I try resetting DB also? Also the minute chart works just fine but the daily chart does not load.

                  Hi,

                  I can reproduce the issue with the Daily chart, it won't load either. What you can do is to selects a 1440 Minute chart. This represents a Daily bar as well. I've just tested and could bring this up.
