    Add chart to SendMail()

    Hello everyone,

I recently upgraded to NT 6.5 and want to know if its possible to send a screen dump of the chart with the strategy signals in the email as I have linked eSignal and have my pc sitting at home and need the information sent to my work addy.

I'm very close to going "live" with my trading and am now at the stage of testing my strategy with streaming data

Is this possible to achieve and also to add multiple email addresses?

    Thanks in advance

    Leonie

You certainly could custom code that C# (taking e.g. screenshots) but unfortunately this is way beyond what we could provide support for.

      Thanks Dierk,

It would be nice to have that function - does any C# programmers out there know how to insert a chart into the email?

      cheers,

      Leonie

        Email Image

        Hi Dierk,

I noticed that in the chart in NT 6.5 you can "email image" of the chart - this is the function I was looking for in my previous post - can you add this to the misc area when building a strategy or code it in somewhere - it would be very useful to combine it

        thanks

        Leonie

Right-clicking on a Chart brings up a menu with item "Email Image".

It would be nice to be abe to programmatically Email Image...

              Thanks!

It can be done through C# as Dierk mentioned, but is beyond the level of what we can support.

Wow this is a really great idea. I would love to be able to look back through emails and find a snapshot of the market when the trades took place without having to hunt down historical charts later.

Unfortunately it is out of my grasp to write this myself, but maybe someone else will find it of interest as well and help.

                    ctrlbrk

Just use the "Save Image As" and save the chart. I save my primary charts everyday. I also print out most of them. Right click on a chart, third item from the bottom.

Yes but I use small time frames, the entire day does not fit on a single chart.

What I was getting at was my strategy already emails me when it takes trades, it would be nice for a JPG to be attached showing a screenshot of the chart as it looked then.

And I'm talking solely about automated strategies, I am not around to save the chart manually.

                      Thanks!

You could launch an AutoHotKey script that'd do everything for you: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/h6ak8zt5.aspx (this is a better link), but be careful with this.

                          Emailing a chart image

You might try the SendMailChart function I posted in the file sharing/misc section and see if that would work for you.
