    Multiple Symbols in Indicator?

I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to utilize multiple symbols/instruments within a function/indicator only to realize that it is unsupported in an indicator, but rather only as a strategy....

Is there a way to have a function access multiple symbols?

Specifically I'm writing a function for a correlation indicator, that requires 2 symbols to obtain results.

    Thoughts?

Unfortunately this is not supported right now. But will be with NT7 (beta and of this year).

Is there no workaround at all?

I'm willing to go the extra mile to provide such an indicator, even if it is experimental and has to be re-written for NT7.

I've had a huge surge of requests for this free indicator on my site... I'm not the type that likes to disappoint.

You could try a different approach by going through a multi instrument strategy and manage indicator plots: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/v...ead.php?t=6651

          Multiple Symbol Indicator

Why carn't Ninja incorporate Matt's request on this issue, why wait until version 7, surley this could be implemented now by your great programming team?
Ninja are in my opinion top of the class but to stay there you need to continually upgrade with your own ideas and that of your users/members to keep ahead of the pack.
          Lets see this inclusion

          Regards

            kipper,

It is being worked on for NT7. It is not as simple as a one-line code that can be changed to add the functionality in a mere minute even though we wish it was.

I am also interested in using Ninjatrader to back test trading stock pairs, for instance fading a deviation in correlation between COP and CVX. There is a nice description of this in The Complete Arbitrage Deskbookby Stephane Reverre with some compelling back tested results. Thanks.

Unfortunately we had to postpone first public beta of NT7 to Q2. Sorry for the inconvenience.

FWIW, I too am in great need for this feature.

Please keep us informed on its status.

If you've not been told recently, your work making NT better and better is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My vote too. This is really needed. We are in Q2 now. Hope NT7 Beta comes soon. In fact, I am waiting NT7 to go for a live license. I need to see how NT is shaping up in v.7.

                            Ciao.

I'm returning after a hiatus as a NinjaTrader consultant - has this functionality been added to NT yet?
