stoch, rsi modified - wonder indicator

    Hello,

With the right settings this indicator has done wonders for me and my trading.

I use it along with the guppy macd - both can be found in the nt indicator
    thread.

Can arrows be added to this indicator to plot on the actual chart when
the lines cross - this would be a huge bonus. (stoch, rsi modified)

Please let me know - thank you

    ~Colin

P.S - the settings I use with this are as follows, on low tick chart, ie 200/233/420 tick or 2,3, 5 min chart - settings 3,10,12,4 very good clean swings

For sure that can be done, if no one is kind enough to step in, you can always contact a NinjaScript consultant to tweak the indicator for you.

I added the ability to color candles to show the crossover instead of arrows. Why? Cause you can watch the candles and know what the indicator is doing without watching the indicator itself. Candle colors can be on or off, trend style or filled. Also, if both lines are at the top or bottom the candles are green, which is also a warning of overbought/oversold trend change. This was a particular pain since the formula in this indicator doesn't hardly ever allow anything over 99.9999999999998 but does allow negative numbers.

Edit: I changed the default settings to 3,10,12,4 but the old defaults are noted in the indicators description pane.

Gentlemen: I have been looking at this indicator. What sort of stop loss and target price exit do you use?

Personally, I would use the same stops and targets as any other indicator/system.

Simply put, fixed value stops and targets are a waste of time. The market doesn't care if you have a $200 stop or a $2000 stop.

In my opinion, stops should be based on what the market is doing (ATR), and targets should be based on predictive indicators, rather than lagging ones (either in the price or time domain, try FibLines or fibonacci time extensions).

But if you are trading based on this indicator alone (not something I think is prudent) just follow the signals without a stop or target.

I think this indicator might be useful with some sort of trend filter to help you get into and out of trades. To me the exits are absolutely critical because they determine whether the system will be profitable and also determine winning %. Just my 2 cents

              Hi guys,
              Nice indicator.
Any ideas on how I would plot a CrossOver of the SD and SK lines.
              These two dont work.
              Thanks.

              if CrossAbove(STOchRSIMod2(Close,3,10,12,4).SDValue[0], STOchRSIMod2(Close,3,10,12,4).SKValue[0])

              if CrossAbove(STOchRSIMod2(Close,3,10,12,4).SDOValue[0], STOchRSIMod2(Close,3,10,12,4).SKOValue[0], 1)

                Hello,

What is it your trying to do? Have the indicator plot arrows when the lines cross? That is what I was asking when I started this thread. I am not a programmer so I am a little lost when it comes to creating or tweaking any of the indicators.

Sorry I can't be much help with the matter.

                  Hi,
Yes, well if you could make the code work then you could plot an arrow or include it into a strategy or do just about anything else.
I may try and post the question in another area of the forum to see if we can get an answer.

                  Thanks

                    Try:

                    if CrossAbove(STOchRSIMod2(3,10,12,4).SK, STOchRSIMod2(3,10,12,4).SD, 1)

I don't have NT running to test but that should do it.

                        Looking for the Guppy MACD

                        Hey Proline,

I was checking out this thread and I saw that you mentioned the guppy MACD. I tried to find it on the forum but have been unable to locate it. Can you direct me to the Guppy MACD indicator?

                        Thanks, Jeff

                              Guppy MACD

Thanks Bertrand..... Is this a Guppy macd or a GMMA. I'm just wondering if this is what prostyle is talking about?
