Data Box Question

Hi,

I'm trying to feel my way around developing custom indicators for NT and I have a couple questions about displaying information in the Data Box...

1) Is it possible to display data that is not plotted on the chart in the Data Box? For example, I want to store some info in a StringSeries class and then display it in the Data Box when the cross-hairs hoover over each bar.

2) If #1 is not possible, is it possible to use the Plot functionality for text? I see how it's possible for drawing object (line, dot, dash, etc) but how would I go about plotting text?

3) I've seen how people display text in a text box on the chart - is it possible to update that text based on what bar is highlighted?

1. Unfortunately the data box will only show plots.
2. Unfortunately you can't create a plot that does text per se.
3. That would require a lot of advanced C# programming through the use of the Plot() method. Unfortunately this is not supported.

Yes this would still be the case with the current version of NinjaTrader.

I can submit this as a feature request, I am unsure if this was originally submitted based on the thread so I will go ahead and put one in.

Hello,

The only information on this that I have is that our CEO, Ray, has announced on another forum that the limited beta should be released near the beginning of the month of may.

If you are on the beta list you will be notified of the release, if you are not on the beta list, once the platform is fully released you would be notified as well.
