Overriding the Plot method

I know guys that you do not support overriding the plot method but I really would like to override this method.

Could someone please give me some references on the net where I could understand the method and use it the way I want..


I am willing to learn this but my web search up until now for this haven't been very successful !

Best place would probably be to start playing with it off of the CustomPlotSample indicator preinstalled with your NinjaTrader.

You could try looking at the Pivots indicator or VolumeZones indicator for some more examples. Any of the system indicators that use it you can take a look at, unfortunately I don't recall all of them off the top of my head.

A little help from your side ?

It is a bit painful to figure out via try and error what may work and what does not. Of course we can study all the existing indicators and write our own manual. But a little help would be appreciated here. You could put a disclaimer on this, and point out that release changes might affect it.

I'm not sure I follow Harry, the discussed topic is clearly outside the supported boundaries, but open to anybody who want to give 'a shot' - thus we provided samples to study, more can be found in the sharing section of this forum.
