Ok, then you need to clean your installation by restarting from scratch
    - backup of the <my documents>/ninjatrader6/bin/Custom directory
    - uninstall NT6 via control panel
    - all your trade data/order data will be maintained
    - manually remove <my documents>/ninjatrader6/bin/ folder
    - reinstall NT6

After it's working again I strongly recommend to not manually move/rename/copy files in <my documents>/ninjatrader6/bin/Custom. The updated swing indicator below will be available with next regular release within the next few weeks.

    - copy file below to <my documents>/NinjaTrader6/bin/Custom/Indicator
    - remove any indicator having "Swing" in it's name from directory <my documents>/NinjaTrader6/bin/Custom/Indicator. Only leave @Swing.cs.
    - start NT
    - Tools->Edit NinjaScript->Indicator->select any indicator
    - press F5 in editor
    - now throw the Swing indicator on a chart -> should work
    - press F5 -> should work as well

I suggest leaving it after that point and not copying around files to avoid further confusion.

it is still giving me problems. Here is what I am doing

    1. close NT
    2. remove anything named "swing" from the indicator file. In fact, there is nothing in my entire computer named "swing"
    3. DL the file you posted and place it in <my documents>/NinjaTrader6/bin/Custom/Indicator.
    4. Open NT
    5. open editor and press F5

I get an error on generating indicator. If I just DL and install NT all over again should this clear up whatever I have screwed up and get the working swing indicator in there?

maybe I still don't have it correct. I put it in the folder a few days ago but was just re-reading your reply about hitting F5 in the editor of any indicator. I do that and I get "error on generating indicator"

I now show "Swing" and "Swing(2)" in the indicator list. Want to be sure I'm using the right one. I tried to delete the original but can't since it's a system indicator.

I still can't find the indicator directory for some reason. When I follow the path above that you describe, once I get into "Custom" there are 2 options..."Backup" and "Snippet"

sorry, I'm new to Ninja, I must be doing it wrong. In TS, I would just double click and it would launch an installer that would put it in the correct place. Is there a different method I need to do here? I saved to disk but it won't open. I tried to open it during DL with Ninja but it says "illegal instruction". I also tried going into the NT folder under program files to see if there is an indicator folder that I should place it in but I don't see that. Thanks.

started a topic Swing Low/High indicator

    Swing Low/High indicator

this is not really indicator development but I don't see another area for indicator discussion.

I am using the swing indicator and I really like it. I am having a problem that it sometimes disappears from my charts. It comes back immediately if I refresh the chart but wondering why this would be happening and if there is anything I can do to prevent it from happening. Thanks.
