    Error - Can't Import Script

I am trying to import a script written by someone elsebut I get an error.

I go to UTILITIES/ IMPORT NINJASCRIPT and get a warning about a trusted source, click OK and then I get a second warning: "You have custom Ninjascript files on your PC that have programming errors. These errors must be resolved before you can import a Ninjascript Archive File"

I click OK and am back to the Control centre and cannot do anything more.

I cannot see what is causing the error. When I delete the script from the PC, I still get the error. I have tried it on a second pc with the same results.

    - Start NinjaTrader
    - Tools > Edit > NinjaScript (open any file)
    - The NinjaScript Editor will open, press F5 to compile
    - This will generate a list of errors at the bottom of the NinjaScript Editor
    - Each error will be listed with the file name the error is in, you now need to fix these programming errors
    - Double clicking on each error will open the file with the error in the NinjaScript Editor

Thanks Ray . . . I was able to assist Momentum using the same process you describe to find the errant indicator that was preventing the import. All fixed!

Looks like your Swing indicator that is called by the CandleStickPattern indicator was removed from your indicator library. Try reinstalling NinjaTrader to see if it will replace your ninjatrader 7/bin/custom/Indicator/swing.cs file, then try your import again. If that doesn't do it, follow-up with NT Support.

            Hello,
For the error that you are receiving it would be recommended to run a repair installation like Whitmark has suggested.

Please repair install with the steps provided below. With this procedure you will not lose any Workspaces, Charts, custom items etc. You will need to copy your license key from Control Center > Help > License Key...

            Close all running applications.
Make sure NinjaTrader is closed from the Windows Task Manager:
Press CTRL + ALT + DEL on your keyboard > Start Task Manager...
            Processes tab
Locate and highlight "NinjaTrader.exe" > Click "End Process"
If NinjaTrader is not located on the Processes tab, skip this step.
Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs or Programs and Features
From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 7 and click Remove.
            Restart your PC.
After NinjaTrader is uninstalled, navigate to the following folders and delete any "NinjaTrader 7" folders located here if any:
            C:\Program Files (x86)\
            or
            C:\Program Files\
Once these steps are completed, download and install NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.30 from the link below:

(This is where you will need to input your license key to download)

              Don't you mean NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.31 ?

Also, just curious, why would you specifically recommend having OP kill the NInjaTrader.exe process using Task Manager?

I mean, if OP can do File -> Exit ... isn't that sufficient?

                Hello Bltdavid,
Yes you are currect I meant release 31 my apologies.
In reference to checking if the NinjaTrader.exe process is running these are not instructions to shut down NinjaTrader, you would want to use File> Exit or close the control center, this is to ensure there are not any existing background processes left for the NinjaTrader as this could cause a problem. It is more of a measure twice cut once precaution.
