    import data not working

    hi,

    i am looking to import minute data in "Ninja Trader".

    i looked up the documentation on the file format.

    before going and preparing my data in the format outlined, i attempted to import a small piece of data. i copied that example data from the help:

    20061023 004400;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;86
    20061023 004500;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;27
    20061023 004600;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;24
    20061023 004700;1377.50;1377.50;1377.25;1377.25;82


    i copied it into a file called MSFT.Last.txt and imported it. when i open the MSFT minute chart, the chart is empty. am i missing something?

    Hi Onn,

    Try with file named only MSFT.txt. The name of the file must match and NT master instrument name.

    Also, since it's 2006 data - make sure that the chart is loading this far back in the Right Click > Data Series screen.

      thanks Ryan,

      i changed the file name, extended the start date and imported - same results - chart is empty. i also changed the dates manually in the file to Aug 31, 2011 and have the same results.

      btw1, in all cases, i got a message that the data was loaded successfully from the "Historical Data Manager" and i have no messages in the log.

            What session template are you selecting then for the chart? Would the data display with Default 24/7 selected? As the data is outside of regular trading hours this would be needed to see 24 hrs data.
