Williams %R--how to invert the line?

    Hello.

I am trying to recreate an indicator overlay I use in Realtick. It is basically an RSI indicator over a Williams %R line.

However, I noticed that when I put both indicators on in Ninjatrader, the Williams %R line is upside down. It is a mirror image of how I have it in Realtick.

Can someone please give me some guidance on how I can go about modifying or creating a new Williams %R indicator, that is inverted?

I have included a picture. The panel above shows how it looks like currently in Ninjatrader.

The panel below shows how I want it to look. Basically I need to figure out how to invert the Williams %R line upside down.

          Hello,

It depends on the indicator. For example with CCI or something you would just multiply the series value by -1

Adam...thanks so much for the response...

How would you do it for:

            1. VOLMA
            2. VOL
            3. JUST PRICE IN GENERAL.
            4. EMA

            Thanks Adam!

              Hello,

What you want to do is reflection about the x-axis

Reflection about the x-axis. Reflection about the y-axis. Reflection with respect to the origin.

However specifics to what range of numbers you want to display would need to be taken into account and you can use the following method :

Do you think you could pass along a request to have Ninjatrader add a function in the instrument selection and also the indicators to include a option to:

                Invert:
False (which would be default of course)
                or
True (if one want to invert price or the indicator on the chart)

                ?

I think this would be of great value.

                  birdog,

If you use the following you can invert anything. You must use it as "indicator of indicator", i.e. add Invert first to your chart, then set its input series to whatever you want.

I made it so you can also select what range you want the output to be in, or just set the "UseCustomRange" to false if you don't care.

                      Hi adam thanks,
                      How to apply
I was going to check this out and put on chart then changed "input series" to ema but it locks ninja up and must kill via task mgr. What am i doing wrong? any thing i should try?
                      Thanks

                        Newbie,

I am not able to get it to lock up anything with EMA. Do you have any errors in your log tab? One thing to note here is that the UseCustomRange wasn't designed for things that aren't stationary. Also EMA doesn't have some set range you would know ahead of time. It would work better on a price oscillator or something.

                          Adam...cool!

                          Couple of things...

                          1. I can put it on subgraphs too right just as long as it is the 1st indicator I place on the chart the subgraph?

                          2. Could you explain the Parameters A and B and UseCustomRange a bit more so I will know how to use it properly (I think I got it but still a little confused on it I think)...smile?

                          3. Lastly, would it be possible to add the ability to plot it as candles?

Thanks a bunch Adam...this is what I was looking for...

                          Great!
