highlighting rays that form a shape

    Hi,

I have a custom indicator that draws a bunch of rays. I'd like to develop another custom indicator that takes all of the rays present on the chart and highlight the ones that form a shape like a perfect square. Before I spend forever trying to figure out how to do this, do you think that this is even possible?

stockgoblin, technically would only be possible if the highlighting logic is working directly in the source indicator that would draw the original rays as well.

so, it is possible for an indicator to determine if rays form a shape?

That would depend on your coding skills expressing the conditions needed, but I feel it will get involved as the shape cannot be exact but would need to be approximated, i.e a percentage for example when you would say ok that's a good enough fit so I would count it.

I've successfully pulled it off using excel but would much rather it be on ninjatrader so it could be live.

Can certainly understand that stockgoblin, I would deem it possible as well - given that you already worked out the core logic in Excel for that approach, it should be worth for you taking it up in NinjaScript as well.
