ZigZag very slow to update! why?

Hi,

The Zig Zag indicator in NT7 is very slow to repaint the last point. It seems to do what it likes, when it likes. Is this a local bug on my machine or is Ninja Traders supplied ZigZag just really laggy compared to MT'4's?

I am using the Zig Zag for a Strategy but i need the last point as it updates.... Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for the screenshot marty087- same for your with CalculateOnBarClose set to 'false' for the ZigZag study?

With it set to 'false' it updates immediately as the current ZigZag Value + - Deviation is hit for me.

As you can see from thje Pic attached... it is not chasing the low down... I have restarted my comp and re-installed NT7....

Are you sure the price reached the Current value - Deviation of 5 pts here?

Definately happening on all markets and deviations... You can see from my first screenshot, the deviation is already past but still it is not following the bars.... Any ideas?

Here is another pic to better demonstrate..... Although we are making new highs.... a new bar has started....and the settings are correct.... Still the actual high is not included..... Is this normal?

Marty, I will check further into and get back to you. I've seen unexpected behavior here now as well in my testing with COBC = false.

Thanks.... I have tried to fix it by changing the highSeries[1] and lowSeries[1] down to 0's.

But this seems to muck things up even worse,,,

Ideally i am hoping that this thing will just follow the lows/ highs as soon as they are made....

Marty, looked further into and unfortunately expected for the currently shipped version - the calcs used would not allow for the intrabar updating as you desired. I will add an enhancement suggestion on your behalf for this item into our product management tracking system.

In our sharing here in the forums are also alternative ZigZag implementations shared, perhaps those would be closer to what you seek?

Can anyone code a fix?

Hi, I have build a custom indicator that relies on the information for the standard NT zig zag. Having mucked around with the ZZ on multiple occasions I have come to the conclusion that's am incapable of modifying it to update inter bar. Can anyone code this for me? I will pay for your services.
