Add SMA to custom indicator the easy way

    Hi,

I am trying to add a SMA to a custom indicator and have found a few posts that cover some of what I need but I am having trouble applying the methods to my indciator.

I did however come across an easer way...the suggestion to add indicator SMA to chart and then use my indicator as the input series which I did but I would suspect that because it plots on the price chart and requires real time data the first print is way off how could I fix this problem?

    Regards,

    Hello suprsnipes,
Please refer to this YouTube video which demonstrates how to apply an indicator over another indicator.

Are you facing any specific issues. If so can you send a screenshot depicting the scenario

I look forward to assisting you further.

Thank you for you response.I watched the short video covers the basics.

Because the custom indicator plots on the price chart and has no historical data the first plot of the SMA is way off (please see screenshot attached) and takes a few bars to get aligned correctly. How can I fix this?

        Hello suprsnipes,
To assist you further can you please send a toy NinjaScript code* replicating the behavior to support[AT]ninjatrader[DOT]com

Please append Attn:Joydeep in the subject line of the email and give a reference of this thread in the body of the email.

I look forward to assisting you further.

*The "toy" just means something that is a stripped down version that isn't necessarily the whole logic. It makes things easier to rout out.
