    Maximum Time Frames Allowed

    I have a client that wants to program 250+ independent time frames into the same indicator, which seems like a recipe for disaster. I.e.,

    Add()
    Add()
    Add()
    .
    .
    .
    Add()

    Does NT have any hard limit on the number of Add() methods that I can call from Initialize? Even if it's technically possible, does an indicator like that stand any chance of updating smoothly?

    Hello texasnomad,

    Thank you for your post.

    There is no limitation on the amount of times that Add() may be used within the NinjaScript code.

    It is technically possible, however as you mentioned this could be CPU intensive when multiple instruments are updating at the same time and calculations must be run on each instrument. CalculateOnBarClose would definitely play a factor if it was set to False.

    You can also have the user take a look at the Performance Tips to improve the overall performance of NinjaTrader: http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...ance_tips2.htm

    Each PC will perform differently and there is a point where too many instruments result in unresponsiveness due to high memory use.

    Please let me know if you have any questions.
