How to make overloads for an indicator?

    Hi,
I have an indicator that I wrote and it uses about 5-6 public properties. However, when I use this indicator from another strategy, I don't really need to set all those properties and prefer to leave few of them with default values. Is this possible?

    Thanks.

    Hi Benharper,

    Thank you for your note.

This is not possible as those properties are used in the overload for the indicator and need to have values passed through them.

Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

What I would suggest is to do the following

-> for parameters that you want to access via a strategy use [GridCategory]
-> for parameters that you only want to use with default values select [Category]

When you access the indicator via strategy code, you only need to set the GridCategory properties within the bracket of the indicator. This simplifies the task.

It is also possible to access the other properties (just in case), but the access would be more complex.
