Mixing Sessions
I want to display two EMA's on a single chart ... one EMA is calculated based on the chart I have displayed with a session template of "RTH". The second EMA is for the same instrument and data series, but is calculated based on the session template "24/7".
Can this be done?Tags: None

Hello pman777,
Thanks for your post.
Yes, this would be possible to do. You will need to add a secondary data series to your chart that uses the default 24/7 template. Then point the second added SMA to this secondary series.
Below is a video that describes how to do this (except for changing the session template).

i tried this but I cannot add 2 data series for the same time frame (5 mins) on the same chart. I get a message "Data Series already exists on your chart. You cannot ass another one."
What I want is an 5 min EMA with a 24/7 template to overlay with a 5 min EMA for an RTH template.

Hi pman777,
You are correct about this..
There would be an issue adding the same instrument with the same interval to a chart.
I do see how allowing for the same instrument and interval with different session templates can be useful.
I am going to submit a feature request in your behalf to our development department to allow for this. Great suggestion!Chelsea B.NinjaTrader Customer Service
