How to determine time period of a bar

Hello,

I need to determine programmatically what time period a particular indicator applied to.
Is it monthly, weekly, daily, intraday (in this case how many minutes), tick bar, etc.
Logic I want to implement is different for different kinds of bars.

Could someone please please help?

To determine the bar type and period you can use the BarsPeriod.

Could you please point me to an explanation, what PeriodType.Volume and PeriodType.Range are? Also, is PeriodType.Id internally an integer? Can I use them in a switch statement?

Here is an example using the BarsPeriod ID and the PeriodType in a switch statement:

switch (BarsPeriod.Id)
{
case PeriodType.Minute:
Print ("Bar type is Minute");

case PeriodType.Volume:
Print ("Bar type is Volume");
break;
}
