    I have an indicator that runs on a TF chart and accesses the ES to determine trend direction. I want to ADD() the ES contract in the Initialize section for the same contract date as the TF chart that the indicator is running on. So when there is a rollover on the TF, the ES contract that is accessed internally is the same contact date.

    Is this possible?

    Hello FCatan,

    Please note we do not recommend dynamically adding data series based on information from the primary data series in the Initialize() method, but this is how you might go about doing this:

    Code:
    if(Instrument.FullName.Length == 8 && Instrument.FullName.Substring(0, 2) == "TF")
            Add("ES" + Instrument.FullName.Substring(2, 6), PeriodType.Minute, 60);
    This code makes sure the primary data series starts with TF and is 8 characters long, then adds the ES with the last 6 characters of the primary data series' name (ex. " 06-15")

    If you have any questions, please let us know.
