    Dark pool indicator

    Hello everyone,

I'm looking for an indicator that tracks the buying and selling of the so called Dark Pools. These are the secret buying and sellings of large institutions like pension funds, etc. and are rather important because they in fact dominate the market.

Some companies have (expensive) indicators like that, for example HFTAlert.com (see: http://www.hftalert.com/accumulator.html, and look under the third button: “Algos/Dark Pools”) and www.technitrader.com (for example their TechniTrader Quiet Accumulation (TTQA) indicator for Metastock, one of their hybrid indicators: http://blog.technitrader.com/blog/bid/77752/TechniTrader-Hybrid-Indicators-For-MetaStock-Users).

For use of this indicator see:

    http://blog.metastock.com/2014/12/anatomy-of-stock-chart-bottom.html

    and

    http://blog.technitrader.com/blog/bid/77821/About-HFTs-And-Dark-Pools-In-Automated-Market

This TTQA indicator is only for Metastock and TC2000. I'm looking for something like this - and especially something like HFTAlert - but then for Ninja Trader....
P.S. Also take a look at the twitter-account of HFTAlert where – if you scroll down - you can see several examples of the secret buying and selling of the Dark Pools and the algorithms: https://twitter.com/HFTAlert

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Gerard111,

    Thank you for your post.

I am not aware of such an indicator but perhaps one of our support members is.

      Hello Patrick,

      Thanks for your reply.

I was just wondering if someone had such an indicator or was able to bulld / program something like that.

It must be possible when, for example, you take a look at HFTAlert.com...

        Hello,

I believe we have a few NinjaTrader Ecosystem partners that have tools designed to pinpoint Dark Pools. Two that I can think of for sure.

Check out http://neoharmonics.com/ & http://www.tmstrategies.com/ and see if they have what you are looking for. You can also check out all of our NinjaTrader Ecosystem Add-On Partners here:

Please let me know if this was helpful or if I may be of any further assistance.

          Thanks for your reply, Danielle.

I know both of the partners that you mentioned.

With all respect, the indicator from True Market Strategies seems a little bit simplistic, and neoHarmonics is, as far as I know, mainly focussed on pattern recognition and not on the Dark Pools. Besides, the neoHarmonics-package is rather expensive....

I will check the other partners that you mentioned, but my main focus was to see if there was somebody here at this forum who already had an indicator (or a program) for tracking the buying and sellling of the Dark Pools....

Maybe there's someone here who is even capable of programming such an indicator...

Forgive me if I am wrong..... Isn't the whole purpose of a dark pools the avoidance of having to execute orders on the live market? This would mean they cannot be tracked on any chart....

Sorry for my late response, but they SURE can be detected... Take a look at HFTalert.com and you will be amazed...

P.S. I still dont understand that there is so little attention for such an important topic.. The Dark Pools are much more important than all the techical indicators...

                    Hi

I've been looking at the same companies that provide the hft alert and tt quiet acc, hft alert is ran off and built using the nanex data feed plus hft tools. Search nanex for more info.
The tt quiet acc is based on the BOP (balance of power) indicator but using volume as an input, also they have a volume accu indi that is pretty much the same as the Willian's acc/dis indi in the downloads section, you would also need to have vol as an input.
I'm yet to put these in action due to thanks giving holiday.
                    Hope this helps?

                        Hi Folks:

I appreciate the fact that several people, in this thread, are talking about Dark Pool Indicators. This subject has totally preoccupied me since Jan 2019. Someone mentioned TechniTrader and Martha Stokes in this thread. My own research suggests that TechniTrader has the most comprehensive & interesting way of dealing with Dark Pools. I notice that they have about 55 courses, at the moment.

I am interested in forming a mastermind group of like-minded people to be able to get access to TechniTrader courses on Trading & Investing. As I see it, the group ought to be able to bring as many TechniTrader courses as possible in house. I would appreciate any suggestions concerning the group; especially if you already have TechniTrader course(s). I admit that I do NOT know what simulator is currently being used by TechniTrader, these days. Many years ago, I believe they used a software program called MTrack EDGE from a company called Track Data.

If you are interested in joining the group, drop me a line at [email protected]. I am in the North East of USA.

                          Hello Friends:

I am forming this group because I have a strong interest in a concept called Dark Pools. This subject has totally preoccupied me since Jan 2019. My own extensive research suggests that an educational company called TechniTrader (headed by Martha Stokes, CMT) has the most comprehensive & interesting way of dealing with Dark Pools. Right now, TechniTrader offers about 55 trading & investing courses.

I am interested in forming a mastermind group of like-minded people to be able to get better access to TechniTrader's expensive courses on Trading & Investing. The group will seek to pool the resources of its members and bring many TechniTrader courses in house. Then we simply help each other. I would appreciate any suggestions concerning the group; especially if you already have TechniTrader course(s). Simulator practice will be critical. I admit that I do NOT know what simulator is currently being used by TechniTrader, these days. Many years ago, I believe they used a software program called MyTrack EDGE from a company called Track Data.

This is a very interesting time to be alive. Automation, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence are hell-bent on making many jobs categories go away permanently. Hardest hit will be those jobs in: Retail & Sales, Admin & Clerical, Food Services & Preparation, Transportation & Truck Driving, and Manufacturing. Also, accountants, lawyers, and radiologists are at risk of Artificial Intelligence. Take a look at this robot bartender called Tipsy Robot:

The USA is on the verge of becoming the first country to enter a brand new era - the age of the investment-based economy. Here, the majority of the country's GDP will come from trading & investment activities. The trading and investing skill is poised to become even more important that it always has been. The goal of my fledgling group is to master trading and investing (using the TechniTrader approach) in preparation for this new investment-based economy.

So, if you are interested in joining the group, drop me a line at [email protected]. I am in the north east portion of the USA. Let's leave a legacy by being among the first to conquer this new investment-based economy.
