    Combining Multiple Bespoke Indicators into Single Program

    For Context: I am new to the C# language but have many years in programming procedural languages and, more recently, some experience in Java Script (relating to the eSignal charting environment).

    My Query: I have developed several indicators. Each is working fine. Whilst maintaining their individual integrity, I wish to combine them into a new, single indicator. So far, I have managed to combine ok by referring to each indicator within the OnBarUpdate() method, and applying the required logic to combine them.

    However, this only works when I have each of the indicators already running as sub-plots against the same primary instrument/timeframe.

    Is it possible to get the same data (i.e. indicator "output") without having to plot each of them as well? Some sample code please...

    Many thanks, G

    Hello Griesha_uk,

    Yes, you can reference an indicators value without having to plot the indicator. You can do this by setting the indicators value to a variable. For example, under OnBarUpdate,

    double smaVar = SMA(10)[0];

    if(Close[0] >smaVar)
    {
    Print("Close above SMA");
    }

    Another sample demonstrating how you can expose variables that are not plots can be found here,

    Please let us know if you need further assistance.
