    Importing Futures Historical Data

    NT,

I am trying to import historical daily data for Euro futures and I'm getting an error message in the log that says, Format error in line 1: Input string was not in a correct format".

Here is the format I used in line 1:

    20170309;1.05420;1.06160;1.05255;1.05935;0.00000

    Would appreciate your advice.

    Thanks
    Ben

    Hello Gennaker,

    Thank you for your post,

Glad to assist. Can you please let me know the file name in use as well? I attempted testing the importing the data with a proxy name and am receiving a different error.

Looking into the error, we have before seen the error come up when the PC's regional setting? We have before seen different regional settings produce this error.

We look forward to assisting further.

      Eric,

The name of the file I used was "NT Price Export".

The regional settings may have something to do with the problem. I am generating the text file from a different computer from the one that has NT installed. In order to get the correct number of decimal places on the text file for euro futures I had to change the regional settings on that computer for decimal places from 2 to 5. I did not make any changes to the regional settings on the computer with NT installed.

The computer with NT installed was purchased in Korea but has the regional settings set to United States (both are set to US).

      Thanks, Gennaker

        Thank you for your reply,

Can you please try renaming the file per our help guide page below, then attempting the import again? See "Understanding import file and data formats"

        https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...?importing.htm

If you still see the same, please write into to PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]Com along with your log and trace files and a link to this forum post.

Please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files to your response so I may investigate this matter further.

        * Open your NinjaTrader folder under Documents.
        * Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
        * Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
        * Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
