6.5 install cannot write trace file

I installed 6.5 for the first time, IT was able to make folders in my Document folderl Windows xp

When I try to run it it says it cannot access Documents--> NinjaTrader 6.5--> Trace--> trace.20080904

access is denied

I am the administrator

however my Document folder is compresses my XP - could that be the problem?

Can you access this folder manually or is it blocked there as well?

I tried to save a simple text file to the Ninja folder and could not. And could not save it to any folders under Ninja Trader 6.5 but can save it in any other place in my Document folder so only the Ninja Trader 6.5 folder and sub folders are being protected somehow. All of the folders that ninja created in Documents are empty. I cannot rename or delete any of the sub folders also.

This is the first time I have heard anything like this before. It may be caused by your hunch on compression, but first try checking this first.

Right click NinjaTrader 6.5 folder -> Properties -> Attributes -> Read Only. How does the check box next to it look? Blank? - sign? + sign? Mine shows up as a - sign.

The folder was read only so I changed it - installer made it that way -

it is ok now so will check it out.

I mostly want to buy the trend slider that is for simulation mode to work in the real word and I will pay heavy for it!
