    Connection Lost

    Hi,
My connection keeps dropping and I see the message "An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine" in Log.
Please can you advise on how to rectify the connection issue.
    Thanks.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your post.
The first thing I would recommend doing is shutting down NinjaTrader and restarting your modem/router.

If you have an antivirus/firewall installed you will want to add NinjaTrader to its exceptions list. If a folder is allowed, also allow the Documents > NinjaTrader 8 folder as well.

Let us know if you see the same after taking these steps.

      Hi Eric,

Thank you for that, I will take those steps and provide an update later.

Another query please - if I have a working OCO order and my connection drops, will the OCO order still be working as it should or will it not be working until I get re-connected?
Is the working OCO order residing on my computer or at the Exchange's side?

      Thanks.

        Hello lonestar,

        Thank you for your post.

This will depend on who you are connected to and if their servers support the OCO function.

You may refer to this page in our Help Guide, 'Where do your orders reside?": https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...rs_reside_.htm

Please let me know if I may be of any further assistance.

          Thank you Spencer.

Re Eric's advice to allow the "Documents > NinjaTrader 8 folder", I am still using NT7, should I then be allowing the "Documents > NinjaTrader 7 folder"?

Separately, I was rolling over contracts in Instrument Manager and noticed that the next contract expiry does not appear in the Expiry box below.
For example, I was rolling ZB from 12-18 to 03-19 - the Expiry was still showing 12-18 and I had to manually select 03-19.
I recalled previously that the next expiry showed up in the Expiry box by default when I was rolling contracts over.

          Thanks.

            Hello lonestar,

            Thank you for your post.

Yes, you are correct you will want to allow your Documents > NinjaTrader 7 folder.

As to your inquiry about the Instrument Manager, it is expected behavior for the next expiry to automatically be selected.

A reset of your instrument database should resolve this.

To reset your instruments please follow the steps below.
            • Disconnect from your data feed: NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Disconnect> Select your data feed.
            • Reset your Instruments: NinjaTrader Control Center> Tools> Options> Data tab> Reset Instruments>OK.
            • Restart NinjaTrader> Connect (NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Connect> Select your connection.
Please let me know if you continue to experience the same.
