how to plot the bid and ask as a chart line. i have several times placed a stop and it got taken out as it was within the bid

Unfortunately, this is not possible by default. You can select "Line on close" as the bar style, however it will use the close price.
You should be able to plot the bid and ask as a line upon creating a custom indicator. More information can be found at the link below.
