    NT7 crashing when trying to connect

    Hello NT7 crashing while connecting to cqg. Have a backup from a few hours ago--how to apply? I can open workspaces fine but crashes while connecting and only half charts showing data

    Per your request, to restore from a saved backup on a new PC, take these steps:
    • Open NinjaTrader 7 on the computer you wish to restore to and disconnect from any open connections if applicable.
    • Open the email with the backup file or connect the external storage and save the backup file to a destination of your choosing (I recommend the desktop as it is easy to find).
    • Go to File > Utilities > Restore...
    • Select the backup file you created from the location you saved it

    I have also attached the Help Guide section and publicly available YouTube tutorial regarding backup and restore below:

      I dont want to restore to another pc i want to fix the pc i am working on--how to restore?--what files should I move away before running restore function?

        You would have been given the choice to determine where the files are saved when creating the backup on the PC. By default these files will be placed under Documents -> NinjaTrader Backup. Each file would by default by given the name of the date it was created on.

          I know the backup file--i want to restore on the existing nt7 installation---should i rename the documents/ninjatrader 7 folder and move the config.xml file--then run nt7 and restore?

            Are you stating that you have created a backup file and you'd like to restore from this file? If so, my previous instructions outline how to do this.

            If not, what are you referring to when you mentioned a backup? When you state "restore" are you referring to reinstalling the platform on your PC?

              I have a backup file i created several hours ago. I want to restore without reinstalling nt7 from scratch. Your previous instruction tell how to restore on new pc-- want to restore on exixting pc

                To clarify, the same instructions would be used, but instead of getting the backup file from an external storage device you can locate it in the previously mentioned Documents -> NinjaTrader Backup folder.
                • Go to File > Utilities > Restore...
                • Select the backup file you created from the location you saved it
                • Click "Open"

                  ok so it will just overwrite all my workspaces-scripts etc...?

                  got it working--some indicators were acting up---thx didnt need to restore from backup
