Creating Hot Keys for Buy Stop and Sell Stop Orders

Hi,

I'm new to Ninjatrader. Please can you direct me on how to setup hot keys for Buy and Sell Stop Orders. The hot key manager only has Buy or Sell Bid/Ask/Market orders.

Thank you for posting in our forum. Unfortunately, there is no way to define a hot key combination for Buy and Sell Stop orders OR Limit orders in NinjaTrader (both 7 and 8). This is likely due to the fact that these orders require additional information.

In the case of Stop orders, the stop price must be defined. In the case of Limit orders, the limit price must be defined. Therefore, a hot key combination is not a practical way to submit these orders.

Thanks for the quick response. In some platforms there's a possibility to place limit and stop orders at a predefined tick from the market price. It's unfortunate that Ninjatrader doesn't have this feature. What's the best way to go about placing stop orders quickly? I like entering my trades one tick below a candle high or low that's why I'm inquiring about stop orders. I noticed it's possible to place a buy stop order by right click the mouse but I don't see any sell stop order option.

Thank you for your reply. I suggest the following video tutorials, both on Order Entry in NInjaTrader 7, as well as using ATM Strategies. ATM Strategies allow you to enter the market with predefined targets and stops.
