what is the difference ... reset / repair DB

ive tried to search ... and could not find an answer ... but all of a sudden ...(just this week)

started having problems with ninja7 ver .0137 sooo upgraded to the latest ver ... 0138 and the problem remains ....

i show to have an active order ... even though .. that instrument is NOT in my instrument list anymore also ... every once in awhile ... i have an orphan show up in my DOM ... ES 03-18 wll not go away

attached are a couple of screen shots ...

my question: .... what would you recommend me do ... to eliminate these 2 issues ....

reset /repair or other suggestion ?? (what exactly is the difference) ??

    thanks ...

    Hello pfsmedical,

To confirm, you are not able to cancel the order from the Orders tab of the Control Center, is this correct?

Is the order a Sim101 order?

To clear a Sim101 order than cannot be cancelled please reset the Sim101 account.

    Tools> Options> Simulator> and click 'Reset'.

yes correct ... is was a sim order ... i have been also experiencing problems moving to the NQ instrument ... ninja7 ver 1.37 & 1.38 would "lock up" ... i would have to use the task manager to terminate ninja

      thanks.... ill try the reset

ok i did your suggestion ... and it appears to have cleared up the issue ....

      thanks....

but i am still curious ... what is the difference between ... reset and repair database ...??

i certainly do not want to send myself back to the dark ages ... are these safe to use ??

      thanks again ....

        Hello pfsmedical,

Performance issues are typically due to the CPU being over-utilized.

Are you able to reproduce this behavior on a chart with no indicators applied with only a single day of historical data?

it has only recently .... like this week ... that ive experienced a problem ... and its only when i load the NQ ... i will simple remove that instrument and not reload ... funny though ... i can move freely from currencies, energies, etc ... back and forth .... but when i loaded the NQ .... it locked up the program

thanks again ... the reset simulator seems to have worked ...

            Hello pfsmedical,

I was not able to confirm, are you able to reproduce the behavior on a chart with no indicators applied and Days to load set to 1?

to be honest ... the reset simulator suggestion appears to have solved my immediate issue ...

i did not try to reproduce the results on a indicator free chart ..... as soon as i reset the simulator and went to exit the program .... the message stating "you have 1 active order" did not appear anymore ...

that is the extent of my troubleshooting knowledge ... i did not want to create another problem for myself ....

thanks again for your troubleshooting .... im satisfied
