    chart freeze

this has happened in past but not for a long time, and if there is a easy fix or bug would like to know, I have IQ feed and everyday all day different times I get chart or data freeze ups. says "not responding" then it clears. after a min. if you click on chart it will go grey and the little sand clock appears then starts again. any sugestions or help with this would be great running NJ7 (all charts freeze same time)

This symptom can have many root causes. We'll need to learn more about your NinjaTrader and your PC to find out why it is occurring to you and what can be done to resolve the issue.

In general, what you're describing is NinjaTrader 7 attempting to process what it has been asked to do at 100% capacity. This causes the platform to become unresponsive until that task is finished. Since NinjaTrader 7 is single-threaded, it cannot spread the load across your (likely) multi-core CPU. This means that the whole platform will become unresponsive even if the issue is only with on chart window, for example.

It is unlikely that we'll be able to resolve this over the forums with the information you can provide here. I'd like to take a look at your log and trace files to get an understanding of what you're reporting. Please write an email to PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]com with a link to this forum thread and "1901576 ATTN Patrick G" in the body.

Also, include your log and trace files in the email. To do this, follow the steps below.
    • Open your NinjaTrader folder under My Documents.
    • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
    • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to this email.
    • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.
