How to make tickdata from database, readable again?

Hi NT,

I'm just aware that somehow a good portion of the tickdata is not been read and used by backtesting in spite of that they are saved completely in their files. Obviously there's a problem in the database that needs to be reset, clean..etc by some method.

What secure procedure would you recommend me to realize in order to recover all data? As you can imagine, this is a delicate matter and I can afford to do any mistake at this time in my work.

Thanks for posting.

To delete the cache, follow the steps below.

• Shut down NinjaTrader.
• Open the Documents > NinjaTrader 7 > db folder.
• Delete the sub-folders named 'cache', 'tick', 'minute', and 'day'.
• Reload the historical data, using either the Historical Data Manager or another means. The following link contains information about the Historical Data Manager: https://ninjatrader.com/support/help...ta_manager.htm
• Restart NinjaTrader and test

Hi Tyler, thanks for the quick response.

Since I work with IB, I couldn't reload tickdata. So, for sure there must another way to peform a reset without deleting my valuable tickdata files.

If you have a live license key and the data you need is for futures, then you should be able to reload the data by connecting to the Simulated Data Feed and then using the Historical Data Manager to download it. Otherwise, you would need to be connected to a data feed that provides historical tick data. Hi Tyler,

Yes, I'm an active user trading E-minis and Micro-Emini futures. Since my broker is IB, I use its data because I trade what I can see, and its historical tick data is almost unrecoverable if you lose it. No other source is available and much less simulated data type.

Just to clarify, connecting to the Simulated Data Feed while using a live license will allow you to download historical tick data from NinjaTrader's historical data servers- this is actual historical market data, despite the fact that the simulated feed is used for this.
