Why does Ninjatrader have to connect to remote server to load config file?

I had always thought that Ninjatrader phoned "home" once to verify license at the startup, but now I realized often this kind of messages when I turn off my isp:

7/7/2018 4:58:35 PM|2|4|Unable to load server side config file: Unable to connect to the remote server

Can you explain what possible config file does my NT installation need from a remote server when it has been always autonomous? Since NT is like a black box ( we cannot see the source code ) I'd like to know. These opaque practices do not help to trust.

From always, Ray always defended that NT protects data privacy....please give us a little explanation of how this process must work this way.

    looking forward

    Edit:
The explanation is The Server Side Config File contains the connection points for your PC to connect to the NinjaTrader servers. It is downloaded each time you start up NinjaTrader

What does exactly mean "Connection points to connect" ?
Is this a new method now? I didn't recall this after the license verification

      Hello pstrusi,

Our development has let us know "The server side config provides server side information to manage connections with servers, etc. An example, it will direct users to what historical data servers to use for connections like NinjaTrader Continuum or when connected to the Playback connection with a live license key."

        Hi Chelsea,

I really appreciate your diligent attention to clarify my doubt. I'm satisfied with the explanation.
