NT causing shimmering/refreshing of other app windows

I am noticing that NT causes a "shimmering" or constant "refreshing" of other app's windows if NT is not the foreground application. It does this on 2 different CPU's. It's bad enough it just crashed on one of my systems. I have posted about this before.

    Hi,

Most likely your issue is related to your video set up.

    - How up-to -date are your machines?

    - What version of Windows have you running?

    - How is your video set up? Do you have a special video card? Do you use multiple monitors?

    - Can you check if you have the latest BIOS updates for your video cards?

    - When you toggle around with the 'Always on Top' feature in the right clickmenu of the SuperDOM, does that make any difference?

My machines are Pentium 940's on an Intel 975 MB. I am running WinXP Pro with all latest patches. My video card is BFG 6600 series processor, driving 2 1600x1200 LCD's. As far as I know the BIOS is up to date.

I will see if it continues if I set the DOM's to "always on top".

      Thanks for the reply.

FWIW, setting the DOM's to be "always on top" does not stop the problem from happening. When the shimmering occurs, it also occurs on the DOM's "L" box in the uppper right corner of the menu.

Thank you for reporting. Will pass this on to developing and ask if they can look into it.

Does it make a difference if you run it with just one monitor?

I can't do that as I would pretty much disable my whole trading platform setup.

                I see.

                Let's try to isolate:
                - do you get the effect only as you move your mouse over the caption bar of an NT window holding a link button or even when you don't hover your mouse at all
                - do you get the problem if only the NT control center is up - so no other NT window holding a link button?

The mouse does not seem to effect it. I will try only running the control center, but I would almost bet a DOM has to be opened. That's where the problems seem to be. But I will check it.

                    Great.

After you checked on the DOM: could you please check as well if the issue is there when only one chart window (and the control center) is running?

                    Thanks

I'll let you know if I can repeat it that way.
