IQFeed Not Updating

I have a strange problem with my IQFeed for NYMEX symbols only (GC & CL). When I first load the chart, my data is up to date and real time. However, the chart then updates in a delayed manner unless I manually reload the chart to refresh the data. The lack of updating is reflected in the Time & Sales window, which shows all data streaming on a 15 minute delay. I have real time NYMEX data, so that is not the problem, and I have gotten it working in real time just fine in MarketDelta. Any suggestions of things to try would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your post.

Please try repairing your database and restarting NinjaTrader:
Go to Tools --> Options --> Misc --> Repair DB

Then try opening a new chart.

I just finished repairing the DB. No luck. In the time and sales window I am not even getting a bid, level, ask level or volume. I am using +GC as the root for the gold futures.

I was able to get them working by switching to the Globex exchange.

I used the mapping +CL and +GC, both with 11-08 expiry month.

Please let me know if you are able to get them working.

I have gotten the crude oil contract to work, but still no luck with gold. It's strange, I am not getting any bid, ask or volume data on Time and Sales. I have tried using the Globex exchange but still no luck. Anything else that I can try???

Please check the Log-tab for any error messages upon selecting the GC 11-08. I tested the GC 11-08 on Globex using +GC as symbol mapping as well and was able to receive data.

Make sure to remove and add the GC to your instrument list upon modifying the instrument.

There is nothing in the log tab indicating any type of error. I still can get the data into a chart when I reload, but I can't get it to stream. I tried running on another computer just to see if maybe I had something a little wacky with my main machine, but no luck there either. I think I must be missing something obvious. I have selected GLOBEX in the exchnage list and mapped the symbol to +GC on the IQFeed line. I have tried running the continuous contract, the November and the December contract and had no luck with any. I have been removing the symbols from the picklist and readding after I make changes.

It is interesting that you were not able to get the data on two machines.

Can you check to make sure you are enabled to get this data with your datafeed?

I'm not sure what the final outcome was but this message helped me.

I use IQFeed too.

I tried GC but I didn't get intraday data.
DTN told me to use QGC. That worked only back to 11/08.

SO I found this thread and put +CG and changed the exchange from Nymex to Globex. Now I get data back to 1/29/2007. Not much but better than nothing. YG goes back to 1/2007. I'm not sure if it's safe to use YG for backtesting during those extra months or not.
