    Disconected

    Hi ive been using NT for quite a while. It just lost connection.I know your thinking yeh so big deal. Mine hardly ever d/c's. Then when I try and re login it says "Unable to login (10004) (login failed)." Has been this way for 18 minutes. I am using it through RCG. I have never in almost a year had d/c for this long. Does anyone have any explanations? Thanks

    I suggest to remove your current connection and recreate a new one using the instructions at the link below.


    Unfortunately NinjaTrader does not dictate when a connection is lost. It operates like a radio receiver in that it receives a signal from your broker and then displays/reports these signals back to you the trader. When a connection is lost, it is the broker's API that determines this and reports this to NinjaTrader which in turn reports this back to the trader.
    The common problems that contribute to this are:

    - ISP issues
    - hardware firewall issues changing IP addresses frequently
    - Dynamic ISP address switching the address frequently intraday. Usually this happens once a week but you may want to check with your ISP. If they do change daily, a static IP address may work.
    - With Windows XP SP2, if you have more than 10 open TCPIP socket connections open (10 programs making connections through the internet) windows will randomly shut down some connections
    - Broker servers having problems

      Thanks for your reply. It has to be on the broker end. It happened at 5:43am Chicago time where the broker is. Still wont login its now almost 6:30am. EDIT Its back up almost 30 mins down time. First of this in almost 12 months from one of the biggest FCM's in Chicago. I guess that isn't to bad.

        You can send your Zen-Fire login credentials to support [at] ninjatrader [dot] com, so I can test your connection on my end to check if I receive the same error message upon connecting.
