Maximum number of bars I can load on a chart ?

I am running ninjatrader 7.0 1000 40. As an example, I would like to display YM contract using 80 tick range bars and load 120 days worth of data. This is to calculate previous support/resistance levels based on price history of the instrument. Unfortunately my chart only loads from current date 6/3 to 5/22.

Is there a limit to the number of bars I can display within a chart ?
What limitation could ninjatrader being placing on the chart ?

    (thanks in advance : )

(ps: I have a 12Gig ram computer and am using less than a third)

Did you update the 'Days to Load' parameter in the Data Series dialog?

Right click in the chart, select Data Series ... see attached screenshot.

      Hello pvtrader,

Can you tell me what data provider you are connected to within NinjaTrader so I may further assist.

Thank you for the prompt replies.

Yes, I used number of 'Days' to load via dataseries. I also tried using number of 'bars' and 'custom range' options to no avail.

My data provider is Esignal. Because I am using ninjatrader 7.0, the last data manager upgrade they support with ninjatrader 7.0 is version 10.6..

When you do this, you may need to be connected to your data provider.

NT may have to download data to satisfy the 120 'Days to Load' request.

If you're not connected, this data might not load onto the chart (because
it may need to be downloaded, but you're not connected ... so if this happens
obviously you'll need to connect so the chart can download the data.)

          PS:
And make sure your data provider supports historical tick data.
For example, "Kinetick - End of Day" would not work here.

Yes, I am connected to Esignal data provider when I make the request.

Hmmmm, let me check if Esignal is placing a limit on how much tick data I can request at a time, good point. I'll get back to you.

Well, I called Esignal. For tick data there servers hold only about 40 days worth of data. Sucks. I can't do without my range bars. I wonder what kinetick can handle ?

With Kinetick a minimum, and for all instruments Kinetick offers:
                • 180 calendar days of historical Tick data (for building tick based charts, such as range and volume)
                • 2 years of historical Minute data
                • 10 years of historical Daily data
Commonly traded symbols will typically have even more extensive historical minute and daily data available.

Keep in mind when requesting tick data between the hours of 9:30 AM and 4:30 PM ET, you will have access to 8 days of historical tick data with Kineick. If you request the data outside those, hours the full 180 days is available. After you request the data, it will be downloaded to your historical database and cache so you can access this data at any time.

You guys are bad ass! - lol

As far as historical tick data, I always start up my charts in the weeee hours of the morning, so that would not be a problem.

Thanks again for the prompt replies and the helpful insights.
