"Authentication required" error when sending mail from NT7

Hello,

I am trying to use Amazon Simple Email Service to send email from NT. When configuring SMTP email settings from Options > Misc I get the error "Authentication required".

Drilling into the Amazon knowledge base I found the instructions to test the SMTP credentials using Powershell and it works ( https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/late...mand-line.html ). With Powershell, emails are being sent.

What could be the issue?

According to this publicly available Amazon Simple Email Service page linked below, you may need another password such as an application password or AWS access key for authentication.

if you look at the Powershell code that appears in the Amazon SES help guide (https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/late...mand-line.html ) and that it works to send an email, it only needs an SMTP server, an SMTP user and an SMTP Password. It works.

In the NT interface, you only have fields for these three elements. Maybe you refer to the IAM user but it is not necessary to send the email. I also tried to configure these credentials with another application and it also works.

Have you tried to set up Amazon SES using an application password?

Please try configuring a Google E-Mail (Gmail) address which also requires using an application password. Are you receiving the same results when configuring a Gmail address?
