    cannot access my NT7 Unable To connect to database

    Hello All,
    I am a vendor with ninja trader (Harmony Trading System) and I am experiencing an error when I try to log on to NT7
    : Need help getting this fixed before Sunday and Monday trading begins.

      Hello georgeinharmony,

      Can you please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files in an email so I may investigate this matter further.
      • Open Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" (sometimes called, "My Documents") > 'NinjaTrader 7' folder
      • Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
      • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments to "platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com".
      • Put "Att Jason, 3103424" in the subject field of the email.
      • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

          It looks like you have one huge database.

          If you don't really care about history that's been recorded
          in the database, you can easily fix your issue by deleting
          the database file (or renaming it).

          Exit NinjaTrader
          Goto folder "NinjaTrader 7\db"
          Rename "NinjaTrader.sdf" to "NinjaTrader.sdf.original"
          Restart NinjaTrader

          NT will automatically rebuild a fresh new "NinjaTrader.sdf" file.

          But there are caveats, these are the most noticeable,

          1. All your ATM strategies will be lost, since in NT7 these are
          stored in the database. You will have to re-enter them.

          2. All your instrument settings will have to be re-entered. Usually,
          this is a simple of matter of using Instrument Manager to add
          desired instruments back to your Default list.

          Other caveats exist.
