NT7 and IB 978.2c

Appreciated Dev. Team,

I hope you understand the urgency to find a compatible Interactive brokers TWS version to work with Ninjatrader 7. This last version, IB 978.2c would be "desuported" by January 10, 2022.
The Ninjatrader 7 community using Interactive brokers platform is still big. Please take steps to solve this well-known problem. I'm sure that you already have experience solving this recurrent issue.

I've received the reason why IB is updating the last TWS compatible version with Ninjatrader7. Here is the message, just in case could be a minor adjustment for you.

We have begun internally testing the latest versions of TWS without the Log4j vulnerability for full compatibility with NinjaTrader 8 before the cutoff date Interactive Brokers has imposed. No solution for NinjaTrader 7 is planned.

Here is the latest news from Interactive Brokers on supported versions in general and more specifically what has been done to eliminate the log4j vulnerability in their software:

TWS version 981.3g will continue to be supported for the foreseeable future, with no hard cutoff or forced deprecation currently planned. At the moment, on March 1, 2022, Interactive Brokers intends to promote a newer version in the 10.xx range to the “Stable” release, after which 981.3g will become the minimum supported version, and earlier versions such as 972 will no longer be able to authenticate with our backend system.

Prior to and separate from that cutoff, we are also enforcing the use of the patched versions of 981.3g (current Stable) and 10.12 (current Latest) to mitigate the issues presented by log4j’s vulnerabilities. Cumulatively, this means that the only supported versions of TWS now and going forward will be patched 981.3g and patched Latest releases installed with updated log4j components, so if a client used an older offline installer for, say, 10.10 or some version that was recently the Latest but has since been surpassed, they will need to download and install the updated Latest release, bringing them to TWS 10.12/log4j 2.16. Otherwise, there is no way to deliver the updated log4j components to that client’s installation.

There is still no plan to confirm or guarantee the compatibility and functionality of TWS/Gateway 983.1g or 10.x with NinjaTrader 7. If you choose to use this configuration, you are doing so at your own risk.

The ultimate solution is to use NinjaTrader 8. If any NinjaTrader 7 users have any specific questions regarding transitioning to NinjaTrader 8, the first resource I would recommend would be this FAQ page:
