Save historical data without the chart?

Hi there,

I hope this is not a double post, because I couldn't find anything relevant through the search function.

I was wondering, how can I save the historical data even though I don't use the chart of a specific instrument?

For example, I focus on one market in my trading. However, I collect data from other markets through IB for backtesting purposes. But because NinjaTrader only accesses the historical data for the instrument that you have in a chart, I have to have much more charts running in the background than I need in my trading just to collect the historical data.

Is there any way around this? Or am I doing something wrong?

A very popular method is to go to File>New>Market Analyzer and record data from instruments you have open in the market analyzer. Note this will use just as much CPU capacity as a chart.

Hi Ben,

I tried this method for the past week, but it only saves (as far as I can tell) the Market Replay data. However, if I turn up the chart (for example on a 1 min time frame), it turns up blank even though NinjaTrader was collecting the data on that day. So, to save historical data from the data provider (in my case Interactive Brokers), I have to keep the multiple charts open, or is there another way?
