    External data feed- there is no market data

    I keep getting the warning that there is no market data available to drive the simulation engine even though there is. Any advice?

    We advise that you reset your simulation account to address this item.

    Resetting a simulation account will clear all historical trade data from this account. Please follow the instructions below to reset a simulation account.
    • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the Accounts tab
    • Right-click on your simulation account and select Edit Account
    • Press the "Reset" button

    Please feel free to write in with any additional NinjaTrader items we may assist with.

      Should I do this on a regular basis?

      It's still happening anyway.

        Thank you for your response.


        No, this is generally only used as a troubleshooting step if you get errors such as this, but it can also be used as a tool to reset and customize the Sim101 account as you may need.

        In addition to the Sim101 account, you may create new Simulation accounts by right-clicking in the Control Center > Accounts window and selecting 'Add Simulation Account'.

          I used to do this with fewer symbols, but now I have 8. I think that may be part of the problem.

          In the simulator settings, there is a Wait For Data setting of 60 seconds. Would changing this help.

            I do not find a way to add a simulated account by doing as you described. This is NT7.

              For NinjaTrader 7, you will be able to manage, reset, and edit simulation accounts from the Tools > Options > Simulator window rather than in the Control Center itself. A lot of the same things will apply though for both platforms.
