    Playback Error Placing Trades in SIM

    Hello,

    I receive the following error when trying to place trades in my SIM account in playback. I can enter trades in the SIM live, but not using playback data.

    Thanks for your post.

    I see that you posted in the NinjaTrader 7 section of the Forums. However, it seems that the image you shared is of NinjaTrader 8.

    Please confirm which version of NinjaTrader you are using so we may accurately assist.

    This error message means that you have no market data currently playing when you are attempting to place an order.

    You must have Market Replay data that you want to trade on downloaded and playing if you want to place orders to the Sim101 account.

      Hello,

      Yes, my apologies I am using NinjaTrader 8.

      ZB data from one day was downloaded and playing when the error appeared.

        Thanks for your note.

        You would need to ensure that you have either Historical data or Market Replay data downloaded for the instrument that you would like to test using the Playback connection.

        Something you could consider is re-downloading the Historical data or Market Replay data for the instrument you are trading to ensure that you have all of the necessary data.

        To download Historical or Market Replay data, go to Control Center > Tools > Historical Data > Load tab.

        If this does not resolve your issue, please send me a screenshot of the Historical Data window showing that you have Market Replay data downloaded for the instrument and the dates that you are trading on the chart when connected to Playback. Also, send a screenshot of the Chart window when the error appears showing that the Bid/Ask prices are updating in Chart Trader at the time an order was placed. And, showing that Playback is running or paused when the order was placed.
        • To send a screenshot with Windows 10 or newer I would recommend using the Windows Snipping Tool.
        • Alternatively to send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN to take a screenshot of the selected window. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CTRL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save it as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.
