Parabolic SAR indicator is not correct

    Hello,

I have been having some problems with the Parabolic SAR indicator.
    In CalculateOnBarClose=true, it is fine.
But when using it with CalculateOnBarClose=false, it gets really crazy.

I wanted to verify if PSAR was correct, so I opened two EURUSD 15 min charts. On one I had PSAR with CalculateOnBarClose=false, on the other one with CalculateOnBarClose=true. Everything was fine until the price touched the PSAR. From then on.. the two charts were showing completely different PSARs.

    Did anyone else see this?
And if yes.. does NT team intend to correct this in the next NT version? (as it would be a very good tool in a real time strategy).

    Thanks

    Thanks.

    Hello,

This is happening because the PSAR repaints or redraws its plots in real time.

      Hi,

I understand that PSAR redraws its plots in real time, but it does so absolutely incorrect.
I am looking at a forex.com chart, which draws PSAR in real time, and it is correct.

Any chance this could be fixed?

PS: Also, there are some cases where even with CalculateOnBarClose=true, the PSAR is in the wrong side of the price.

      Thanks.

I will test this now. Please post a screen shot of what you are referring to.

          Hello,

Here is a print screen of the Ninja chart with the wrong PSAR (from today). I get the real time data from Gain.

Please note that the CalculateOnBarClose was set to "true" for the PSAR.

In the Gif I have attached, the last 3 PSAR should have been under the price (at around 1.2550, 1.260).

          Thanks.

            Hello,

I am sorry, to see the issue I will need to see two charts with the same instrument and timeframe used but the PSAR plots are different.

I am testing this now and do not see any difference yet.

              Hi,

I have attached two pics. They are from 10 -15 minutes ago.

In "PSAR bad.GIF", the CalculateONBarClose is set to "false".
In "PSAR good.GIF", the CalculateONBarClose is set to "true".

There is a difference between the PSARS on the two charts (last bars).

I see the same problem where Parabolic SAR is calculating incorrectly. Has anything been done about this yet?

Is that beta version you mentioned working correctly? If so, can you please give me a copy?

                  Thanks.

The beta version seems to work fine.
