    Moving Average Cross overs

    I have view the videos and manual.
    Can Market Analyser be used to alert for a simple moving average cross over?

    Yes, this is possible upon creating a custom indicator and load it in an Indicator column in the Market Analyzer. More information regarding creating custom indicators can be found at the link below.

      MA cross over in Analyser

      I have created the following indicator which works fine on my charts.
      How would I adapt it so i could use it as a true false indicator in column in Analyser

      if (CrossAbove(SMA(Close, 5), SMA(Close, 20), 1))
      {
      CandleOutlineColor = Color.Red;
      BarColor = Color.Yellow;
      }

        Hi cptrader, yes just create another indicator and use this snippet below as an idea -

        Code:
        if (CrossAbove(SMA(Close, 5), SMA(Close, 20), 1))
        {
        trueFalse = 1;
        }
        else if (trueFalse == 0)

        Plot0.Set(trueFalse);

        You would of course need to define trueFalse as private double in your variables.

        In the next step you can then reference these Plot values in your Market Analyzer alert or coloring conditions.

            gary9,

            Code:
            private double trueFalse = 0;
            In Variables section of the code.

              Hi
              We’ve recently launched as a proud NinjaTrader 3rd party add-on provider (the NinjaTrader press release can be found at http://www.ninjatrader.com/downloads...st_29_2013.pdf ).

              I realise this topic is extremely old now, however I've seen a few questions on the forum such as those in your post and just wanted to mention that we have now built what we believe is a 'swiss army knife' of Moving Average Cross Over Alert indicators for use in Charts, Market Analyzer & Strategy development.
              We wanted to mention this new product in case anyone looking for an easy functional solution to questions raised in this post, or for those not wanting to do their own ninjascript coding to achieve this.

              The indicator currently has 8 different configurable alerts (including Audio alert which you can add your own custom sounds to, Email alert with chart attached, Pop-up windows etc), great visual Moving Average 'Cloud' display, multi-colored moving average slope lines, and much more for 12 different MA types.
              Also includes a specific indicator to be used within Strategies or the Market Analyzer for creating crossover Alert, Cell or Filter conditions.

              Thanks very much for your time and good trading!!
              Cheers
              Stuart
