Can you please check the start date and last date in the Format Data Series of the chart. Make sure they reflect 11/26/2008 and 12/10/2008. I loaded a 1000 volume ES chart on my end while connected to Zen-Fire using the same range settings and I displayed data as expected.

Try right clicking in the chart and select 'Reload Historical Data'.

Ok, I tried rolling over YM while connected to Zen. Merge dialogue box settings are:

      Future/ YM 12/08

      from 10/16

      to 12/11

      Into YM 03/09

Then I get the following message:

No day data avilable for from instr.
No minute data available for to instr.
No tick data available for to instr.
      Historical data required...blah blah blah.

And of course my charts look like crap.

        Hi,

Try resetting your instruments under Tools--> Options--> Misc tab--> Reset Instruments.

        Then rollover again.

Please follow the instructions below to rollover the expiration date of a futures contracts.
        • From within the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Instrument Manager
        • Highlight the contract you wish to rollover in the left side of the Instrument Manager window
        • Press the ">" button (the instrument will disappear from the list)
        • Press the "<" button and the instrument should re-appear with the front month expiration date
Click here for a video and further instructions

            Hello BigAAPL,

Please connect to your data feed and open up a chart for the YM 12-08 with the historical data you like to merge. Open up a YM 03-09 chart as well.

Try the merge once more using the same settings.

Does it matter what type of chart I use for this, ie: CV, hourly, tick? I use CV mostly.

It should not matter. I suggest an 1 minute chart. I am not sure what 'CV' refers to; a volume interval?

                  I'm sorry - I meant constant volume (volume ie:1000). I'll give it a shot.

OK I followed your instructions and got the same error message as stated in my post above. Still no merged data on the YM 0309 charts.

by creating charts of both ES 12-08 and ES 03-09 I was able to merge most
of the saved data . The odd thing is that I can't get from 12/5/08 to 12/11/08
to chart on the new contract . I did an extra merge data on those dates and
it said it worked ,but it still won't chart for that period ???

I suggest to export the missing data from the ES 12-08 instrument.
Rename the file to ES 03-09 and import the historical data.

Instructions can be found at the links below.

                          Export:

I'm finally completely rolled over . I did not have historical data enabled in the
account connection for TT . Between fixing that and the saved data that did
merge , I'm all good with no missing days . Live and learn . thanks .
