    historical forex data

    Hello,
I'm using Ninjatrader as a analyzing tool. I've developped a view strategies and used the end-of -day data which I can get from yahoo. But now I want to develop and backtest a view strategies in forex. Althoug I've searched a lot and tried a view things ( alpari, fin-rus ) I wasn't able to get the datas.
    Now my question:
is it possible to obtain free forex data or with low costs? And how can I import them to Ninjatrader?

    thank's a lot dominic

    Hello Dominic,

    Thank you for your post.

You can import data, however it must be in the format listed at this link: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...V6/Import.html

Also, use this link to connect the GAIN's free real-time simulation account: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/support_GAIN.htm

Ok thank you, I've tried this but I still have a problem. If I want to import the data a window with "there has been error on importing historical data. please check the log". What shell I do now? I've added the datas below.

You will have to check your log file in the Control Center for the data error and correct that in the text.

Thank you, I've experimented a lot and now it's a little bit better
But if I want to import the data, then comes in the log following message up:
unexpected number of fields in line '1' , should be 6 or 3
          What does that mean?
How must the first line look like?
Because I've copied the example from Ninjatraderhelp into this file and tried it with this datas and then there comes still the same message up.
          Can you help me, please?

Which set did you use from the Help Guide, tick, minute or daily?

I just tested and it worked as expected.

                Please try the following:
                Please try repairing your database:
                1. Go to Tools --> Options --> Misc --> Repair DB
Please try repairing your NinjaTrader Installation:
                1. Shut Down NinjaTrader
                2. Go to Uninstall Programs in the Windows Control Panel
                3. Select NinjaTrader and hit the "repair" button

If that does not work, please attach the .txt file you are trying to import so I can test.

I did it like described, but it didn't work. I load the datas up and it would be nice if you could try it. This is the file i want to import.

Here is an example of the format of your text:

                    13.02.2004 112,02 112,39 112,00 112,14 702.845

Here is a sample from the help guide:

                    20061023 004400;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;1377.25;86

So, the formating is not correct. The date for example shouldn't have periods and each field must be separated by a semicolon.

Please refer to the import page and you will have to reformat each line.
